The first selfie studio in the state of Arkansas, Get Snappin’, opened its doors in October. It’s the first of its kind in the state and mimics those in larger cities in the United States, with different scenes to snap selfies in. Located just outside the city of Fort Smith off Highway 22 in Barling, Get Snappin offers 22 themed selfie booths.
Having opened in the midst of this pandemic, COVID-19 precautions were part of the plan. These include the policy that guests must wear face masks at all times unless in the selfie booth and full sanitization of all spaces every 90 minutes.
“With social media being so big and with people wanting to take pictures and have them posted, this is a great way to get so many different backdrops,” co-owner Kaylee Childers told the Times Record.
The selfie rooms’ themes are changed throughout the year, with rooms as of this writing (November 2020) including: festive tinsel, white trees on snow, outdoor fir trees and fire pit, retro records, graffiti, a baby room with special props (additional fee), and more.
Despite being inspired by larger metros, Get Snappin charges affordable midwestern rates. Reserve your spot in advance for $15 per person, and there are also options for private events and photoshoots if you’d rather not shoot yourself. When we checked their social media they were having a holiday sale for an unlimited annual pass for only $50.
